Hand painted with an array of vibrant flowers and gilt trim. Measures 7 5 8" diameter x 3 1 4" height. Marked on the underside with initials J. P. underglaze. Jacob Mardochee dit Petit (1796 1865) trained as a painter in Paris, travelled to Italy, Switzerland, Germany and England where he lived and worked as a theatre set designer. After a short stint at Sevres he purchased the Baruch Weil
